Community of Hope
Major Achievements

For 35 years, Community of Hope has worked to create opportunities for low-income families in Washington, DC , including those experiencing homelessness, to achieve good health, a stable home, family-sustaining income, and hope.

1) Improve the health and well-being of underserved communities in Washington, DC.

2) End homelessness for families in Washington, DC.

3) Increase financial stability for the low-income families we serve.

4) Build a thriving organization.

In December 2014, we were recognized by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as a Health Center Quality Leader for our overall performance in 2013, which ranked in the top 10% of 1,200 eligible health centers in the country.

In 2014, this brand new health center opened to provide medical and dental care. The community has recognized it for its light-filled and healing design. NAIOP, a commercial real estate development association, presented an award of excellence to the interior design architects for their work.

In 2012, we won the Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management, an annual award presented to a nonprofit in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area that demonstrates outstanding organizational management. In 2014, we were selected as a Washington Post Top 150 Workplace.
