Allyson Smith
Director of Network Support
Allyson Smith first joined DCPCA as the DC Connected Care Network (DCCCN) Director of Population Health in August 2019, and is now the Director of Network Support. As Director of Network Support, she is responsible for transforming data into tools and strategies that close health care gaps and inequity. In collaboration with clinical leadership, Allyson utilizes population health analytics to drive optimal Network performance and to assist the health centers in developing tactics that provide high quality care, increase patient engagement, reduce hospital admission and readmission rates, as well as reduce the rate of non-emergent Emergency Department visits.
Allyson has more than 13 years of experience in public health and health care. Allyson’s areas of expertise include epidemiology, biostatistics, disease prevention, and quality improvement. Prior to joining DCPCA/DCCCN, Allyson was an Infection Preventionist at Holy Cross Hospital Silver Spring, where she developed, implemented, and coordinated the efforts of hospital staff, physicians, and patients in the prevention and control of infections and infectious diseases. Over the course of her career in public health and health care, Allyson has remained passionate about improving the health of the population that she serves and finding lasting solutions to the existing gaps in health care quality.
Allyson has lived in Washington, DC since 2002. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She received her Bachelors of Science from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Masters of Public Health from The George Washington University School of Public Health. Allyson is also board certified in Infection Prevention and Control.
