Director of eClinical Works (eCW) Support Services

Marlene Fuentes, was born and raised in the District of Columbia.  She has not only lived in the community but has worked closely with it for more than 20 years.  Health care has been her passion and she has worked hard in making a difference directly with patients and advocating for policies that uphold health as a human right.  Marlene joined DCPCA as an eClinicalWorks (eCW) Project Manager and works with the Capital Partners in Care Health Information Exchange network helping health centers leverage their electronic health record (EHR).  She works closely with health centers to provide education and instructions on mission-critical system features and functionality and to explore various options to accommodate the user’s workflow and operational needs. Her goal is to ensure health centers optimize the system to its full potential to better serve their patient needs and align it with their quality improvement objectives.

Prior to joining DCPCA, Marlene served as a community health center operational leader at La Clínica del Pueblo, a non-profit Federal Qualified Health Center.  Her primary goal as the Director of Clinical Operations was to provide and establish a safe welcoming environment for patients and staff by building respectful, trusting relationships, where staff members and patients have a voice.  She has extensive experience working with the uninsured population and managed care organizations that provide services to DC Medicaid and DC Alliance beneficiaries as well as commercial insurances.  Marlene earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management from University of Phoenix.  Marlene's dedication for health care and the community has guided her in a path of working within the community which enables her to help at a different level but never losing focus in providing the best health care services for the community that is dear to her heart.  Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her family and other activities such as cooking, swimming, and dancing.
