Assuring that all residents of the District of Columbia and the metropolitan region are in good health requires a commitment to equitable, accessible, and quality health care and to creating the conditions that promote health equality and result in community health. These are complementary strategies that must be addressed concurrently.

Policy and Advocacy
We acknowledge our community-based health centers, which provide high-quality, comprehensive, culturally appropriate care to thousands of individuals – despite inadequate reimbursement rates. Our ER Diversion Pilot Project at Providence Hospital zeros in on conditions best treated in a primary care environment. And we explain why most private providers do not compete to care for our patients in our neighborhoods.

Our staff proudly announces that our first round of capital projects just turned two. Whitman-Walker Clinic is now connected to electronic health records, and SOME (So Others Might Eat) and La Clínica del Pueblo are next. And thank you to CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield for awarding DCPCA a three-year grant to promote our Quality Culture Series efforts.
