Manager, Preventative Cancer Programs

Inna Scurtu holds the position of Manager, Preventative Cancer Programs, under the Programs and Health Center Support Department. Inna has a wealth of professional expertise over more than a decade in the role of a patient navigator and quality improvement. Her responsibilities include overseeing the cancer portfolio and patient navigators’ supervision at the DCPCA, where she leads multiple programs aimed at enhancing screening rates for breast, colorectal, and cervical cancers. Consequently so, she focuses on identifying socio-economic barriers common among vulnerable and minority populations within DC area. The implementation of team-based quality improvement interventions is used to efficiently address challenges at the clinical practice level. This is accomplished via the delivery of an extensive portfolio of patient navigation services, TAs, and peer group sessions. Additionally, she provides assistance to the QI and clinical care staff of the DC FQHCs in enhancing their cancer screening system by implementing evidence-based treatments and quality improvement programs.
